I know you were worried about it but Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins follow each other again
Our great national nightmare is over. No, not the more pressing one but the one that had so many of us singing “Silver Springs.” I am talking, of course, about whatever happened between Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins.
The White Lotus stars played Rick and Chelsea in season 3 of the hit HBO series. While the couple met a tragic end on the series, the actors also seemed to have a falling out, at least from what fans thought. Wood and Goggins unfollowed each other on Instagram, both posted a carousel of images set to the Fleetwood Mac song, and didn’t address any of it in the press.
Don’t worry though, now they’ve followed each other again. The two were both at the Met Gala this year with their fellow White Lotus stars Lisa and Patrick Schwarzenegger. While they were not photographed together, both Goggins and Wood did end up re-following each other. So either we were roped into the long con with this saga or the two talked at the event.
On the carpet itself, Entertainment Weekly asked Wood if she was going to head to Saturday Night Live to star alongside Goggins again during his hosting gig. While she said she’s not doing that, she didn’t seem upset by the idea (despite Saturday Night Live making fun of her). “Yeah, why not? Why not?” she said when the outlet asked her if she’d like to join him on the show. “Yeah, it would be fun.”
Then she added the sentence that had fans scratching their heads. “I loved working with Walton. It was the best thing ever.” It all got to a point where Goggins even had to shut down a question from an interviewer who kept pushing the “feud” rumors. Wood and Goggins did not take a picture on the carpet together. Wood did go to the Met Gala with Schwarzenegger though.
Schwarzenegger told Variety on the carpet, “I heard Aimee was coming and I texted her and I said, ‘Can we please go together? I’m so nervous.’ And she was like, ‘I was going to text you the same thing!’ I went to her hotel and we showed up together. It takes the nerves out of it that you have a real friend to come with.”
So, to clarify: We still don’t know if anything actually happened between Goggins and Wood but the two do now follow each other on social media again. So at least things are right back to where we all started on this journey.
